Eve Steffen, 94, of Tarpon Springs, Florida passed away on May 13, 2026 with her family by her side. She was a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother (Yia Yia) and great grandmother. A proud Cretan, she was born in Avgeniki, Crete, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1957. Eve and her family moved to Tarpon Springs in 1972 from Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Stanley “Stelios” Steffen. She is survived by her son George (Katherine) Steffen and daughter Maria Steffen, both of Tarpon Springs, Florida; her grandchildren Michael (Michele) Steffen and Nicholas Steffen of Tarpon Springs; as well as a great grandson Jordan Steffen; and many nieces and nephews in Greece and Belgium.
Eve was a long time master seamstress in Tarpon Springs; she was the owner of Evan’s Doll and Alterations for over 35 years.
Visitation will be held on May 19, 2026 at 10 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36 N. Pinellas Avenue, Tarpon Springs, Florida 34689.
Burial will take place at Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor,
Florida 34683
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Eve Steffen to the St.
Nicholas Cathedral Restoration Project.
