Frances Casari Creegan, 97, passed away on August 24, 2021 at Solaris Health Care in Pt. Richey, Florida.  She had formerly lived in Caspian, Detroit, and Cheboygan, Michigan.  Frances was the daughter of Joseph Casari and Rosina (Rizzardi) Casari, both of whom immigrated to America from Val di Non, Trentino, Italy.  She grew up in Caspian, with her twin brother, Chester, and her younger sister, Agnes.  Frances graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1941, with high honors.  She moved to Detroit right after graduation, where she was employed in the insurance industry.

Frances married Anthony (Tony) Karath in 1947; he passed away in 1964.  Later she married Hugh Creegan, who passed away in 1990.
After her retirement from active work, Frances and Hugh moved to Florida, where she was active in volunteer work, especially for the Pasco County Sheriffs Department, where she earned an honor for 20+ years of volunteer service.  She also volunteered for her churches, Saint Michael the Archangel and Saint James the Apostle, in Pt. Richey.
Surviving are her niece Christine Casari and nephews Paul and Jerry Casari, and grand-nieces Tricia (Casari) Manning, Heather Ireland, Rebecca Ireland, Lisa (Casari) Nephew, Emily (Casari) Nguyen, Krystal Casari-Perry, and grand-nephews Brian Casari, Adam Casari and Noah-Drake Stoliekas.  Preceding her in death were her nephew Chester Douglas Casari, niece Julie Roberta Casari and grand-niece Renee Casari.
Also surviving are her step-son, Joseph Creegan and wife Carla Creegan, her step-granddaughter Jennifer Creegan, step-great grandchildren Joshua Ciereman, and Kailee and Hope Woods.  A beloved step-granddaughter, Rhonda Creegan Ciereman preceeded her in death.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 29, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Dobies Funeral Home in Hudson, Florida.  A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 30, at 10:30 am at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, next to her husband, Hugh Creegan and near her beloved sister Agnes (Casari, Goehring) Hirsch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Pasco Sheriff’s Charities Inc. (8700 Citizens Drive, New Port Richey, FL 34654) or Saint James the Apostle Church, Pt. Richey.

I am very sorry for your family’s loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Fran through my aunt Diann, over the past couple of years. It was nice to learn a little about her life and what a good soul she was. May she rest in eternal peace.
