Garry R. Wood, 87, of Tarpon Springs, passed away August 16, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara; a daughter, Vicky Knerly of Huntsville, Alabama; a son, Paul Wood (Kathleen) of Plant City, Florida; three grandchildren: Nicolas Knerly of Huntsville, Alabama; Julian Knerly of Tampa, Florida, and Maura Stouder (Paul) of Portland, Oregon; two siblings: Carol Christo and Francis Wood, both of Syracuse, New York; and a great grandchild on the way. Garry was the rock of his family and was known as a kind, gentle, intelligent, and loving man. He was a caring husband, brother, father, and friend. He was the oldest son of Frank and Bertha (Mattern) Wood. Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, he served honorably in the U.S. Army and returned to Syracuse upon his discharge, where he worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, now National Grid, for 40 years. He retired in 1991 and moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida.
