George Agapiadis

April 06, 1934~April 28, 2024

Our beloved Father, widowed husband, grandfather and great grandfather passed peacefully on Sunday 4-28-2024.

He is survived by his daughter Penny, son Anestis and Francine and her husband Vasilis, grandchildren Sophia and Jose Silva, Nicholas Georgeokitsios and Aglaia, great-grandchildren Isabella, George, Lucas and Nicholas.

His parents had fled to Greece from Asia Minor during the Great Diaspora and he was born in 1934 in Anatoli of Ioannina, prefecture of Ipeirus, in Greece. He was of Pontian Heritage and a true one at heart.

At the early age of 13, after his father was killed by the Nazis in WWII, and being the eldest son he became the caretaker for his mother and four siblings and supported their well being by becoming a barber. He loved this profession and was very passionate about it as he was for his signature mustache.

In 1966 he and his wife Maria and family immigrated to the USA. They became a long time residents of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and in the early 70’s proudly became US citizens.

In 1970 they established the first George’s Pizza House in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

There they raised their children and became members of Cape Cods proud Greek Community.

In 1995 George and Maria took retirement in Athens, Greece visiting often Ioannina and Anatoliki Krapsi and Florida. After 2017 they came to reside in Holiday, Florida where their three children reside.

Our father was blessed to have reached the age of 90, but at heart he was a kid always singing, dancing and very attentive to his friends. He was true to his faith, his heritage, his family, neighbors and friends.

His entire life was dedicated to his beloved Maria and his immediate family. His heart melted for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Every day he planned it according to their needs first.

He is so sorely missed already.

He will be laid to rest next to his beloved Maria.

Service is scheduled this Thursday at 12 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 9426 Little Road, New Port Richey, Florida, 34654. Burial to follow at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens at 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, Florida, 34683.
