When George was little, he used to play “Mighty Mouse” with a cape and I was “Sweet Pearl Pureheart”. He would run around our front yard saying, “Here I am to save the day” You know that Mighty Mouse is on the way!” He was a superhero who made everyone happy. He was Mighty Mouse until he turned into a teenager. As a teenager, George came over to our house many Friday nights and brought his friend “Little John” with him. George was really cool as a teenager, with curly hair, down to his shoulders and sporting suede or velvet bell bottoms and boots. We had many good times at the Zoumberos house, eating dinners, listening to music, and partying around a bonfire on the patio. There were also some really fun times at Lithia Springs with BOTH of our families together-playing cards, swimming, and churning homemade ice cream. After high school, I got married and moved away and did not see George for about 45 years. I am glad to have reconnected to the family and see him again before it was too late. I extend my deepest sympathy to the whole family. George was a great friend for most of my life and I am appreciative of the joy and laughter that we shared, especially at my birthday parties with his siblings. May his memory be eternal!
