October 17, 1951~February 06, 2025

Gerald Monroe “Jerry” Lee, 73, passed away on February 6, 2025, at his home in Holiday, Florida, surrounded by family. He was born on October 17, 1951, in Bartow, Florida, and moved with his family to Tarpon Springs when he was just two months old.

Jerry dedicated 31 years of service to GTE before retiring in 1999. However, never one to remain idle, he often remarked, “You can only do so much fishing and golf,” and soon found a part-time position with Carlon Realty.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary “Tyke” Wolock Lee. Together, they built a loving family that includes their children: Brandi (Louis) of Tampa and Ryan (Courtney) of Holiday. Jerry was a devoted grandfather to Savanah, Madison, Charlotte, Mallori, and Shelby and cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Emjay Monroe and Eleena. He is also survived by his sister Ellen (Marc) of Tarpon Springs, as well as nieces, nephews, many cousins, and dear friends.

Jerry was deeply involved in the Masonic community throughout his life. His fraternal journey began as a member of Palm Harbor DeMolay before he became a Master Mason of Tarpon Lodge No. 112 on January 16, 1975. He served as Past Master twice and dedicated 23 years as the lodge’s secretary. Recently, he was honored for his 50 years as a Mason. His commitment extended to the Scottish Rite, where he achieved the highest distinction—a White Hat—as a 33rd-degree Master Mason. Additionally, Jerry was an active member of Egypt Shrine, Knights Templar, and York Rite. His dedication to service led him to join the Order of the Amaranth, where he served as Royal Patron four times and Grand Royal Patron for the State of Florida. He was also a member of the Eastern Star and served twice as Worthy Patron. His unwavering commitment to these organizations reflected his values of integrity, service, and brotherhood.

Beyond his fraternal commitments, Jerry had a passion for soccer. He loved refereeing and coaching and once led a team of 11-year-old boys from New Port Richey to Cavalier-sur-Mer, France, for an international tournament during the Christmas holidays. He also enjoyed spending time on the water fishing and scalloping and spent many weekends walking and camping on Anclote Key Island with family. His love for travel took him to Colorado for several years to enjoy snow skiing. In recent years, he found joy in RV camping in Homosassa Springs and Crystal River.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Shelby Lee and Ardella M. Lee. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched with his kindness and steadfast support.

A Masonic memorial will be held on February 23, 2025, at Dobies Funeral Home – Holiday Chapel from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at Tarpon Lodge located at 26 N. Ring Ave., Tarpon Springs, FL.

Jerry’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tarpon Lodge No. 112 Scholarship Fund or The Masonic Home in St. Petersburg.

I was just a little tyke when I was the ring bearer in your wedding, something I will never forget, it was an honor. Jerry was a great guy, I had a great time when I stayed with you guys in Clearwater some 43+ years ago, I will never forget the tour you took me to at the sponge docks and the baklava from the Greek bake shop there. So sorry for your loss, wish we could have spent more time together. My birthday is on FEB 23rd, I see there is a celebration of life for Jerry that day, I will definitely think of him and your entire family that day
Peace be with you all!
Rod
