Harold J. Levey Jr.

February 03, 1948~October 16, 2023

Harold John Levey Jr. (Dr. Jay) of Holiday, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2023.  He is survived by his three children Brian (Laurie), Jason (Kerri) and Scott (Kim); Sister Dorothy (Paul); and six grandchildren Amber, Caroline, Julianne, Cassandra, Finn and Stella, Logan and Bently; Jay’s two dogs referred to as “The Boys” were also like his sons and treated like Kings.

Jay was born in Brooklyn, New York He was in the Army and was Honorably Discharged.  He returned to New York, where he worked for the New York City Sanitation Department.  He ultimately transitioned into entrepreneurship and became the very proud owner of Dr. Jay’s Pest Control.  He eventually moved to Florida and started Dr. Jay’s Pest Control from the ground up and was extremely successful. One of Jay’s greatest joys was his love for baseball.  He played from the time he was a young child until a month prior to his passing.  He earned several awards throughout the years for his excellent skills.  This passion took him across the country where he played in several tournaments including father and sons’ games. Jay had a huge personality, and no one was ever a stranger in his presence, including international cruise ships to local restaurants.  Dunkin Donuts was his all-time favorite coffee and not a day went by without him having a cup.  We all had Dunkin on hand for when he came to visit.

Jay was a very special man and loved by everyone.  He will always hold a very special place in all the lives he touched.  Jay will be deeply missed and always loved.  May his memory be eternal.

Jay was one of my favorite teammates. He always made me laugh; especially when he gave me the nickname “Fwankie”. And he was never shy about using the term “love you”. Great guy, I will always have fond memories.

I met Dr Jay many years ago at the Bay Pines VA. What a guy! Always had a grin and fun story to tell me. Mostly about baseball. Prayers to you all.

May you rest easy my friend. I loved our long talks at BayPines and at the house when you used to check for termites.
