It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harper Grace Brewer, 2 years old, of New Port Richey, Florida on December 26, 2024. She was a beloved daughter who will be deeply missed by all. Harper is survived by her parents, David and Elizabeth Brewer; her grandparents, Gregory and Suzanne Bullock, Don and Dawn Delaney, Ron and Cecile Brewer, and Chuck Swartz; her great-grandparents, Francesco and Maria Catanzariti, and Florence McFadden; her uncles and aunts, Josh and Sara Peterson, Ryan and Ashley Bullock, and Scott snd Heather Brewer; her cousins, Gabriella and Brynn Peterson, Austin and Ryley Bullock, Erika Westbay and Kristen Brewer; and her dogs, Jax, Loki, and Mia.
Harper was diagnosed on December 31, 2023, right before her second birthday, with POLG Mitochondrial disorder. Harper had a long battle in and out of the hospital through the last year, but never lost her spirit or her laugh. She took on every new challenge with a great attitude and gained herself a second family with our hospital, therapy, and PPEC staff. With the help of our second family, Harper was able to come home from the hospital to spend her last Christmas with her family and dogs.
Harper loved to go to trampoline parks, take her dogs for walks, wave “hi” to every person a hundred times, point to pictures of her family, smell the flowers with her grandparents, loved Mac and Cheese, strawberries, veggie straws, and puffs, have dance parties in the car with her dad on the way to school, watched Word Party non-stop, splashed water at her parents during bath time, read “If Animals Kissed Goodnight” with her mom every night before bed, and had to say “goodnight” to all of our dogs, including Murphy who passed away, the turtle and crab on the wall, and then a big group hug with her parents before night night.
We will be holding a viewing and service for Harper on her third birthday, January 8th, 2025. The location will all be at Dobies Funeral Home; 8825 Old County Rd 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653. The open casket viewing will be from 12pm to 1pm, and a closed casket service at 1pm to follow.
Dress code is black formal, or green/Harper shirts.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone would like to bring a new teddy bear or a children’s book to place around the casket for the service. All will be donated to St Joseph’s Children’s Hospital for other babies and kids battling life threatening illnesses! You can also help continue to spread awareness for mitochondrial diseases by sharing or donating to the Liam Foundation in Harper’s name!

What a beautiful smile! Even while she was using all of her strength to fight, I love those stories of how she never lost her spark, her humor, and her joy. Sending all of my love to her family. ♡

My heart breaks for all who knew and loved Harper! She was a strong, loveable little girl who fought valiantly to stay on earth with her family. I miss her so much, but I know she is healthy and happy with her Father in heaven. Sending love and hugs to Liz and Dave. It will be a struggle to go on without her, but all of your friends and family are here to help with whatever you need. God Bless 💔❤️🩹❤️

Good morning Ms. Elizabeth and Mr. Dave. The piece of my heart, your little angel touched, is forever hers. Harper touched me in a way I will never forget. She is a beautiful soul. Thank you for the priceless privilege of meeting her and taking care of her. She is love personified. May she rest in peace until you see her again in the resurrection. Revelation 21: 3 & 4

Although we never got the chance to meet you we fell in love with you from afar. We were over joyed to watch you grow and see your smile. We know you will be looking down on Mom and Dad and your four-legged siblings, all your Grandmas and Grandpa’s, aunties and uncles, cousins and friends. Your love will be missed, but we will carry you in our hearts always. Love to all you are in our thoughts daily ❤️
