Hugh Schnacky, 63, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on March 31, 2022. He is survived by his wife Sue Schnacky, his son J Andrew Schnacky in Rochester NY, stepdaughter Kristina Kimball, stepsons Salvatore Cimbalo, Kevin Cimbalo, and step-grandson Anderson Cimbalo, his Uncle Paul Schnacky, and many cousins across the United States. He is predeceased by his mother Lois Belt Schnacky, and his father Robert F. Schnacky.
Hugh was born in Rochester NY and moved to Florida in April 2009 to escape the cold snowy winters. He was most recently restoring a 1966 mustang until he was diagnosed with frontal temporal degeneration a form of early-onset dementia, in June 2019. His wife became his caregiver making sure he was as independent as possible. He traveled and did many things as able until the disease eventually made that impossible. Gulfside Hospice assisted in making his last few months very comfortable. He was able to pass away at home with his loving wife providing his care. Hugh did not want any fanfare after he died, so in the future there may be a memorial service or celebration of his life. Please feel free to leave a memory /condolence below.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Hughs’s memory to Gulfside Regional Hospice or the Association of Frontal Temporal Degeneration –

Hugh was a frequent reader and poster on Vintage Mustang Forum where he found a group of men and women ranging in ages from their teens to their nineties also interested in classic Mustangs. There we gather to ask and answer many of life’s questions, not just about the cars, and find kinship. Hugh’s humor and wit was noticed when he no longer visited, and while we wonder why this has to be, he will not be soon forgotten. Hugh is surely forever cruising in style.
