James D. Ellis, Jr. left this world suddenly on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his sudden death. He was born January 28, 1976, in Bangor, Maine to Charlotte Ware and James D. Ellis, Sr.
James will be greatly missed by his adoring twin sons Dawson Maxwell Ellis and and Mason Dean Ellis; mother, Charlotte Ware; father, James D. Ellis, Sr.; sister, Theresa Parsons and husband, Gregory; sister, Katie Olivera and husband, Andrew; stepmother, Janice Ellis; and two special nephews, Bryce Parsons and U.S. Marine CPL Zachary Parsons. James also had a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
As a young boy James was known for his fast and furious bicycle riding and his love of macaroni and cheese. He enjoyed taking apart bikes, radios, electric can openers and such. He was known for his humor and his antics. Never a dull moment!
James’s sons Mason and Dawson cherished and loved their father deeply. Each evening at the dinner table he worked with them on reading, spelling and math. He taught them right from wrong and listened intently to their stories and worries. Since James’s death the twins have talked of “making our Dad proud” and doing well in school “since Dad wanted us to do good in school”. The boys have followed in their father’s footsteps and love to speed down the driveway on anything with wheels.
James was a “Mr. Fix-It” and could fix everything from a car to a sewing machine. His driveway often appeared like a parking lot with all the cars he was working on. His tools were always within arm’s reach. If you glanced at his kitchen counter there would be salt, pepper, brake fluid, Old Bay seasoning and spark plugs. He was also a great cook and everyday made delicious meals for the boys.
Known to his co-workers and friends as Jim, he was hard-working and generous to a fault. He was always helping anyone who needed a hand. He worked for many years at the City of New Port Richey Wastewater Reclamation Facility. James valued highly his friendships with his co-workers and all of his friends. He will be sorely missed by many, many friends.
Those who wish to remember James in a special way, may make gifts in his memory to a trust fund for his sons Mason and Dawson. Donations can be sent to Theresa Parsons, 16930 Loch Moor Lane, Spring Hill, FL 34610. Condolences to the family may be expressed at dobiesfuneralhome.com.
