James Everett Johnson

On Thursday, December 24, James Everett Johnson, loving husband, father, brother,
son, and friend, passed away at home at the age of 61.
Jim was born on September 21, 1959, in New London, CT to James and Beverly
(Thompson) Tourjee. He received his Bachelors Degree in Real Estate and Urban
Economics from the University of Connecticut in 1981. Jim practiced real estate for 35
years, first in Connecticut and for the past thirty years in Florida. On October 7th, 2000,
he married Marcy Roberts.
Jimmy had a great passion for life. He loved his family, friends, boating, scuba diving,
country music, trading stocks, and his social life. Jim made friends everywhere he went.
To meet Jim was to love Jim.
Jim was predeceased by his biological father, James F. Tourjee, as well as his father,
John E. Johnson, who adopted Jim and his siblings in 1966 in Hawaii. He is survived by
his wife Marcy, his four children, Scott, Brooke, Jonathan and James, his mother
Beverly Johnson, his brothers Bob Johnson and wife Susan, John Alexander, Dale and
wife Lisa Alexander, sisters Kim and husband Chris Tyler, Miki and husband Bob
Leighton, Kelly McElheny, In-laws Charles and Shirley Roberts, sister in-laws Sherry
Adams and Deborah Roberts, brother in-law Charles Roberts III, as well as many
cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in Florida at a date
to be announced.
Jim will be laid to rest in the Burrow’s family cemetery in Mystic, CT in 2021.
