Jamie Robert Lamberton-Ansotigue (44), a beloved Florida native, was born in Tampa and made his home in Holiday, Florida. Jamie entered this world to Jennifer Lee Jordan and James Harold Lamberton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was later lovingly adopted by his maternal grandparents, Rosemary and Joel Ansotigue, who gave him not only his new, unique last name but also a foundation of love and support.

Jamie was known to all who met him as a gentle, generous soul. His kindness was effortless, his spirit radiant, and his love for others deep and sincere. He found his calling in making people feel beautiful—inside and out—as a talented hairstylist and proud graduate of Lorraine’s Hair Academy in St. Petersburg. Whether offering impromptu haircuts to friends or strangers in need, Jamie never asked for payment—only the chance to help someone feel fabulous about themselves.

Among the many people Jamie loved, his bond with his sister Hattie stood out as something uniquely tender. He never once called her by her name, always referring to her simply and affectionately as “Sister.” Their connection was unbreakable, and his love for her was palpable to all who knew them.

Jamie had a quiet way of giving—always prepared with a small gift or token for those he cared about. No one ever questioned where these treasures came from; it was just understood that Jamie had found them somewhere along life’s path and carried them with love until the moment presented itself to give. He was also a devoted plant lover, always rescuing flowers and plants to replant or share—his own quiet form of nurturing beauty in the world.

Jamie never let a person pass without offering a compliment or a kind word. He believed in seeing the best in everyone and never missed an opportunity to brighten someone’s day, whether they were a lifelong friend or a complete stranger.  Jamie was known for complimenting hair, outfits, shoes, smiles, jewelry, or whatever he found special about a person.  He often cried happy tears to hear about good things that were happening to people.  Jamie was never short on the love that he bestowed to all he encountered.

Despite facing lifelong challenges and health hardships, Jamie’s spirit remained resilient. His warmth, generosity, and radiant soul left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Jamie leaves behind a wide circle of loved ones and friends who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his cherished sisters, Hattie Strickland and Angela Berdequez; his beloved brother-in-law, Adam Strickland; his devoted aunt Dana; and his cherished cousins, Robert Garced, Jason Branly, Chris Branly, Danielle Hazen, Caroline Pass, Jordan Pass, Monique Hazen, and Jacqueline Lamberton. His memory and life will live on through his nieces and nephews: Austin, Dylan, and Haven Strickland; Carryn Barrilleaux; Caitlyn Brooks; Jacob Berdequez; and his many great-nieces and nephews: Eden, Jayce, Harrison, Henry, Cienna, Owen, Wells, Quinten, Callie, and Sutton.

Jamie is also survived by his life partner and dedicated caretaker, Juan Metzler, whose love and presence brought Jamie comfort and companionship through all seasons of life.

Jamie’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and beauty. His light will continue to shine in the lives he touched, the flowers he planted, and the countless hearts he warmed.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Jamie. It seems like it’s always the ones that are so kind and giving and loving that are taken from us way too soon. We remember Jamie as a young boy always laughing and smiling and sticking very close to Hattie. Your family is in our prayers as we pray for comfort and peace.

Jamie, you’ve been my little brother since I could hold you up to the roof with one hand and send you to get ice cream. There is no words to be said that will fill the void that you’ve left in the world. Your sincerity was pure. You loved everyone and never held a grudge for long and always had a smile to share, even in your hardest times. I will miss the sound of your voice greeting me and making me feel like I was at the top of your list. No words, full tank of gas little brother! Love you always Big Brother!
