Jane Roslyn Harkey aged 79 died Saturday December 30,2024. Born in New Jersey, she lived with her Husband Donald and her two sons Scott and Dean for 20+ years before moving to Houston Texas for a number of years. After a downturn in the oil industry, she returned to New Jersey to live for the next 19 years. Then, after her husband passed away in 2017, she moved to Dunedin, Florida, to be near her son Dean and her Grandson Thomas.
Jane loved the beach (keeping a Time Share on the Atlantic Ocean), was an avid reader and researcher, and a world traveler. She was very active with the church and her professional career was second to none. Jane RN-BC, MSW, CCM was extremely well recognized in the nursing community. She wrote numerous (published) papers on a broad range of medical subjects and served as the Chair of the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCM).
As a registered nurse and social worker, Jane was certified as a geriatric case manager, and while in New Jersey, operated a very successful private geriatric care management practice. She had a postgraduate Certification in Gerontology and was also ELNIC (Care at the End of Life) trained. Jane was also a Certified Case Manager. It is Ironic that one of the many papers she authored, served as the basis for a course developed for the CCM titled: “Death as a Part of Life”.
She was loved by everyone who knew her!
