Jean, our mom died Thursday December 10th in New Port Richey, Florida with her family by her side.

Jean was born in Waterville, Maine and moved CT where she lived for over 60 years before moving to Florida just 4 years ago.

Jean's life professionally was a Registered Nurse where she loved her traveling nurse days visiting & helping families. She graduated from Southern CT State University at the age of 47 (1993) changing careers to the path that she loved, with a BS degree in Nursing

Jean leaves behind her daughter Nancy Newman of Middletown CT & her family, Charlie & 5 grandchildren Patrick, Paul, Kevin, John & Kristy and Son Brian LaPointe of East Hampton & his family Jennifer & step children Maddie & Ryan, and several nieces Debbie, Tina, Angela, Lisa, Laura, Karen & Tammy and her sister in-law wife of Edward, Lida Matthews.

Jean's biggest pride was her grandchildren who she loved her calls from & would remind them frequently via text or facebook that they needed to call more. She loved buying everyone gifts constantly which was a beautiful part of her giving personality.

Jean was predeceased by her mom Hazel Pelland Matthews, father Jesse Matthews, sister Patricia Chionchio and brother Edward Matthews.
