Jerome Frost, affectionately known as Jerry, brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around him. Born on November 6, 1947, in Evergreen Park, IL, and passing away on November 28, 2023, in New Port Richey, FL, Jerry’s sense of humor and friendly nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry never met a stranger and had an unparalleled ability to connect with people, often expressing his warmth through a unique sense of humor. He had a knack for creating nicknames for those he liked, adding an extra layer of camaraderie and affection to his relationships.
In addition to his daughter Carrieann Frost of Holiday, FL, Jerry is survived by his brother Gregory Frost, sister Marcia Frost, nieces Lora Parker, Evelyn Walsh, Terriann Frost, Jennifer Abare, Krystal Frost, Jessica Frady, Stacy Smith, nephews David Frost, Nicholas Dorfman, Jonathan Parker, Josh Frost, and grandson Cameron Hall.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Marcella Frost, son Jerome “Buggy” Frost, his identical twin brother Terrance Frost, and brothers John Frost and David Frost, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Jerry’s service to his country as a Vietnam Army veteran in the renowned 101st Airborne Division earned him the respect and admiration of many. He was a recipient of the prestigious Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medals, and numerous other accolades for his bravery.
Beyond his military service, Jerry owned and operated Frost Concrete business in Holiday for over 40 years, contributing to the growth and prosperity of his community.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on December 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Dobies Funeral Home, 4910 Bartlet Road, Holiday, FL 34690. A graveside military service will follow on December 15, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. All friends and acquaintances are welcome to attend and share their fond memories of Jerry.
Jerome “Jerry” Frost will be remembered not only for his courage and dedication but also for the light-hearted nicknames that reflected his affectionate spirit. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the laughter and love he brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

You were always so nice to me and loved to talk about casino visits. “Pulling a Jerry” became the buzz phrase should you win and need to scoot out of there quickly! Jerry was never a guy to overstay visits with anyone, anywhere and any time. He’ll be missed.

I was one of those who you gave a nickname to (BITESY) im so sad because I’ll never hear that word again you called me that since I was a toddler and here I am 51 years old and you’re still calling me it 😭 i always called you big fella im really gonna miss you and i will always be thankful for you being there and helping raise my sister’s and I and making sure we had a lot of fun when we were children you will never be forgotten I will always remember you and always be thankful that I had you in my life Rest in paradise. big fella love terriann
