Jewell Ann (James) Weldy of Tarpon Springs Florida went to heaven on October 3, 2024. Born in Hazel Green Kentucky on April 3, 1943, to Benjamin Franklin and Cora Alice (Russell) James. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her beloved husband, (Elwood) Lee Weldy Jr. She leaves behind her 2 “beautiful girls” (as she would always say) daughters, Lee Anne Moore (Chris) and Benita Lynn Gullion (Jody), grandsons Daniel Blair and Richie Parry, many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jewell was a loving wife, mother, sister to 9 siblings, sister-in-law, auntie to many and friend to all. She worked as a manicurist, school bus driver, caregiver, Pepsi Challenge administrator and Turkey sitter for a television commercial, just to name a few. She and Lee took trips to Japan and Italy and a family trip was a must every year. Jewell was a proud 50 year member of Harvest Chapter #564 OES in Dayton Ohio. She regularly attended the Church on the Bayou Presbyterian Church and had many friends there.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00-4:00 pm at the Tarpon Shores Mobile Home Park Community Center (Enter the park off MLK Dr to 89 Rachel Dr, Tarpon springs, FL 34689) on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in her name to The Church on the Bayou (409 Whitcomb Blvd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689), her beloved church which was heavily damaged during Hurricane Helene.
