John F. McCabe was born in Yonkers, NY on September 14, 1945. At the time of his death on September 7, 2022, he was a resident of Port Richey, FL.  He was appointed to the Yonkers Police Force on May 3, 1968, and in late 1969 detailed to the Detective Division. John retired in May 1988 and moved to Tarpon Springs, FL in 2012.   John is survived by his spouse of 11 years Joan of Tarpon Springs, his son Jason, a USN helicopter pilot, and daughter Kim. John was a member of the local Moose Lodge and frequented the local veterans’ clubs in Holiday.
