John J Dayock, Jr. “Jack” “Papa” “Uncle Jack” passed away peacefully December 25, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Edith (“Eydie”), children Christopher (Donna), Danielle (Simon), Joel (Wyndi), and Shauna; 16 grandchildren, Katelyn, Justin, Yasmine, Laila, Luke, Logan, Aubreyanna, Noah, Owen, Nadya, August, Zarhya, Carsten, Lylah, Sadey, and Ruby; sisters, Marianne and Susan; nieces Paula (Leo) and Denise; Nephews Tommy, Michael, David (Melissa), and Matthew; as well as many more extended family members and friends.
Jack ran an accounting business in Tarpon Springs for many years with his daughter, Shauna. He enjoyed golfing and playing pool, and hanging out at Strokers with friends. He loved his family. He made time to go out to lunch often with his children and grandchildren. He liked to go to Fairway Pizza with his family, or order pizza and hangout with everyone at his house, a favorite memory of his grandchildren.
In his younger years, he raised homing pigeons and enjoyed telling stories about this time. He had a unique sense of humor that will definitely be carried on. He was never on time, always saying he would be there at seven or ten past the hour. Catch phrases like “Honey”, “What the”, “I forgot to remember”, “You betcha”, “Thanks for the compliment”, and “I thought that was common knowledge”, will be used in his memory.
He was a great husband, dad, brother, uncle, and grandfather – Papa – as he was called. His grandchildren were a light in his life and he in theirs. He also loved his two dogs, Teddy and Timmy. He never sat still, always doing tasks that he really shouldn’t, like tree trimming and carrying too much at once. He drove a Kryptonite green Camaro, and loved the Mets and the Giants.
He was very loved. We will think of him every time we make a joke or run late to something. We will think of all the memories we made with him every time we go to a McDonald’s for lunch or drive past his office. We will continue to see him every time we see his wife, Eydie, and every time we play with his two dogs, Teddy and Timmy. Papa’s memory will always live on. He leaves a hole that will not be filled, rather stay in our hearts until we all meet again.

Cousin Jack was a great person with a gentle and good spirit, always ready to make you laugh. Even as kids growing up, he is remembered that way. He was kind and caring with his homing pigeons as a young boy and his dear little dogs in his older years.
After his family moved to Jersey from Pa., cousin Jack loved to return to home for a C.M.P., his favorite. I can never eat a chocolate, marshmallow, peanut sundae without thinking of him and the delight he had enjoying that Pennsylvania treat.
At a family wedding years ago, we were in church and having not seen my Mother, his Aunt Pauline for quite awhile, he turned around and mouthed “I love you” to her. What a touching thing to do to for his old Aunt, that was Jack. We will miss his almost weekly calls and that great sense of humor. Rest in peace, dear Jackie with Aunt Sue and Uncle Johnny and the rest of our great family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our love, sympathy and prayers for all his children, their families and his two dear sisters.
Cousins, Jule Ann and Dick Cheslock
