Blankenship, John L. “Lynn” 77 of New Port Richey entered into rest on December 7, 2019 with his family by his side. John was a beloved husband and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman and could be found fishing out on the water more often than not.

John served in the U.S. Army before a successful career in Risk Management in the medical field, finishing with Munroe Regional Hospital in Ocala, FL. He then joined Lowe’s Hotels and was the Executive Director of Housekeeping Services at Lowe’s Nashville, TN before his retirement.

One of John's favorite hobbies was bass tournament fishing with the Fish Tales Team. He loved to spend his time fishing on the lakes of central Florida, especially Lake Okeechobee. John also loved his Washington Redskins, cheering for them since early childhood.

John is survived by his loving wife Nora Pitt Blankenship of New Port Richey; Daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Jared Frattini M.D. of New Port Richey, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Makiesha Dickson of Louisburg, NC, and son and son-in-law Richard Dickson and Tyler Lawnichak DVM of St. Augustine. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and great-grandson: Gavin, Brock, and Colt, granddaughters: Ashley, Sarah, Alexis and husband Ricky with great-grandson Caleb. In addition to other nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Dobies Funeral Home 8825 Old CR 54, New Port Richey, FL. on Friday December 13, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:45 AM. Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to HPH Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
