Joseph H Donahue Jr.

January 22, 1943~March 05, 2024

Joseph (Joe) Donahue beloved husband and life-partner of Ann Marie Donahue; loving father to Joseph III (Jennifer), Nicholas (Lisa), and Robert (Shelly) Donahue; adored and devoted grandfather to Jessica (Patrick), Joseph IV, Kenneth, Megan, Halie, Madelynn, Tyler, and Sarah; proud brother of Rita, Paul, Patricia and the late Margaret; son of the late Joseph Sr., and  Eleanor; Loving uncle and cousin of many nieces and nephews and cousins, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 05th, 2024.

Joe, originally from Brooklyn, New York, served in the United States Navy.  After marrying his forever love Ann and starting their family they eventually moved to Syracuse, New York where he and his wife Ann raised their 3 boys prior to moving to New Port Richey, Florida to enjoy their well-earned retirement.  Originally a service tech, Joe quickly became an accomplished salesman and sales manager for Pitney Bowes, before leaving for his final career move with Anheuser Bush.

Joe’s energy and passion for life and the people around him will be forever remembered, along with his devotion to his family near and far and for his steadfast benevolent disposition.  He was the most devoted husband, father, brother, cousin and friend.  He was always there to lend a hand when needed, give advice when asked, and offer comfort to all that crossed his path.  He and his wife Ann are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. We sincerely hope that each of you can lean into the many fond memories you shared with him, and let that bring some peace and joy in this moment of sorrow.

Joe now rests in God’s hands and will eternally be watching over all of us along with all the family and friends that went before him.  He will continue to enjoy celebrating our accomplishments, he will be helping us through our adversity, and he will be guiding us in our moments of uncertainty.

There are many friends and family members that may have been missed in this summary, but we hope that each one of you know how much Joe cared about the people that surrounded him. He loved to joke around, meet new people, and spend time with those he cared most about. The family would love it, if you are willing, if you would share your favorite memories of Joe, as we know he was deeply loved and cared about by so many.

A Mass service will be planned at a later date at St. Michael’s the Arc Angel in Hudson, FL.

Cremation was performed under the direction of Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home and Crematory in New Port Richey, FL.

Franks fondest memory was Joe taking him to his first Yankees game at Yankee stadium in 1969. That game celebrated Mickey Mantles retirement! Frank was 12 and became a lifelong Fan!!! One of many memorable and formidable times spent with Joe and Annmarie ❤️. Forever in our hearts. RIP

I will forever cherish the fond childhood memories I have of you Uncle Joe, and how important family was to you! Our Christmas Eve celebrations, family gatherings, and your amazing crumb cake! Give my poppy a hug for me, and watch over us all. ❤️

We have so many incredible memories spent with Joe through the years. Truly my earliest memories have him in it. Whether it was Rosedale, Valley Stream or Syracuse, the amount of love he always had to give, how he would always make everyone around him feel valued and cared for and about was amazing. He didn’t like to eat crabs, too much work, but would help in whatever way to prepare them for everyone else. I remember him shucking clams for what seemed like hours so everyone could enjoy them. He loved his family and friends with his whole being. I learned so much from him in so many ways. He will live on through all of us that knew and loved him. As someone recently said and is also so fitting for Joe.. he always gave so much more than he took. Xoxo

My favorite memory is him taking me go cart racing at the camp ground when I was very young. He always gave such a genuine interest and lovable happy energy when around you and that memory always stuck with me as so much fun ❤️ blessed to have had him as an example in my life, kindness is always remembered.
Sending love to everyone xoxo
