Julie Anne Nagel, 87, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on March 15th 2024. She was born in February, 1937, at the hospital in Tarpon Springs as New Port Richey, where her parents lived, did not have a hospital at the time. She graduated from Gulf High in 1953, followed by FSU in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a stay at home Mother to her three children LouAnne Nagel of St. Petersburg, Gene Nagel Jr. of Indianapolis, and Chuck Nagel of New Port Richey. These three children gave her and her husband, Gene Nagel Sr, nine grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Julie also has a sister and brother, Barbara Kotimaki of New Port Richey and Richard Parizek of Seminole. She started her professional career teaching at several schools in St. Petersburg and followed with a second career in Billing and Financial Counseling in the medical field. She loved her family dearly and always supported and encouraged them to their full potential. Some of the many things Julie enjoyed include a cottage on the beach, playing BINGO, and cruising. She volunteered a good bit of her time over the years to the church teaching children’s choirs and playing the organ or piano as needed. She will be remembered and missed dearly for her laugh, love of life and her family and friends.
