Kathleen Ann Kean (Petrashek), 94, formerly of Table Rock, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, August 10th, 2022, in Hudson, Florida. Kathleen was born near Centralia, Kansas, on January 13th, 1928, to Thomas F. and M. Ilene Kean. She attended Sherman school near Seneca, Kansas, for eight years. The family then moved to Dawson, Nebraska, in 1940 where Kathleen graduated from Dawson High School in 1945. She worked in Omaha for Boys Town, the US Government, and at Paxton Gallagher. She married Lawrence Petrashek on May 27th, 1950, at St. Mary’s Church in Dawson, Nebraska.

They moved to a farm near Table Rock. Four children Sharon, John, James, and Laurie were born to this union. The family moved into town and she worked as a cook for Table Rock Public School for twenty-one years.

Kathleen was a member of St. Ann’s Alter Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW, Pinochle Club, and Jolly Workers Club, formerly known as the Friendly Neighbors Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, daughter Sharon, son James, sisters Bernice Walston and Elaine Arington, brothers Gerard Kean and wife Geraldine, Thomas Kean and wife Joan, and Larry Kean. Also preceding Kathleen in death are brothers-in-law Frank Petrashek and wife Zela, as well as Eldon Petrashek and wife Myrtle. Kathleen is survived by her son John and his wife Cathie, daughter Laurie and her husband Leroy, brother-in-law Richard Petrashek and wife Mildred, sister-in-law Tomi Kean, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska, on Saturday, August 27th at 9:30 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30 AM, followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall.
