Prayers to the Family.
On April 15, 1969, I met then AE1 Lovett as my electrical and electronics instructor, and instruct he did! I learned a lot and was a better sailor and 2 years later on a squadron mate as he was my supervisor and I was a second class electrician by then. I made Chief Petty Officer and retired with 22 years. It was his friendship and his mentoring that enabled me to make chief. I have stayed in touch with him for about 30 years after my retirement, I will see him again but I am saddened by his passing. From myself, AE2 Steve Alderson, AE2 Ed Basford, AEC Ralph Roland, AE1 Jim Hutchins, AE1 Steve Fielding, AE1 Stacy Jones, and AE2n Gary Mac Carty, we wish you Fair Winds and Following Seas in your new heavenly journey. He was a kind and loving man. There are many things I will remember but the one thing special was his smile.
