June 30, 1980~November 11, 2022

Kimberly A. Montgomery, age 42, of Port Richey, FL, passed away from cancer on November 11, 2022, under the care of Gulfside Hospice.

A graduate of Ridgewood High School, Kim earned nursing degrees from Pasco-Hernando Community College, St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida. She worked tirelessly as a nurse and nurse manager at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital for more than 20 years, leaving an indelible mark on hospital staff and patients. Her kindness, energy and commitment to care and healing is a lasting legacy that will be forever remembered by those who knew her.

Kim and Daniel teamed to juggle the busy school and extracurricular activity schedules of their children, and Kim went above and beyond in planning parties, crafting gifts, and organizing camping trips. Celebrations of all types — especially children’s birthday parties — were done large with games, bounce houses and water slides. Kim found joy in crafting, including decorating mugs, signs and pictures, and designing and tie-dying t-shirts — all skills she imparted to her children.

As a camping enthusiast, Kim packed the family van to the hilt with spouse, kids, dogs, food, and equipment. While nothing was left to chance, seemingly it rained every time they camped! Yet Kim was not deterred.

Predeceased by infant son Nathan, Kim is survived by her husband, Daniel; children Alexander, Emily, and Micah; parents James and Sandy Kelly; sister Laura Raposa (Benjamin and Grayson); extended family members; and many friends.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at a later date.

Growing up with Kim was always an adventure. From camping in her backyard to getting dolled up for Senior Prom, Kim always made everything fun. Her creativity gave us beautiful gifts for our families for holidays and birthdays, while her kindness gave us something to keep going. Kim was an amazing person, and will be missed. Praying for Dan, the kids, and the rest of the family.

Kim was one of the most warm and outgoing people I have ever known. She was fiercely protective of me at work, and treated me like an honored friend and family member outside of it. She invited me into her home for dinner and let me stay at her house when I needed a place to stay close to work, without even thinking twice.
Kim poured herself into work, family, life, and absolutely was one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. It breaks my heart to know that she was taken from us so young, and I very much wish her children and husband all of the best. They will forever have a friend in me and place in my heart. <3

We are so sad to hear of her passing. Sandy has been my friend for the last 50 or more years and there are no words to express our profound sadness. Even though the family is far away from us, we will always be with them in spirit. Rest in Peace, Kimberly..

Although we know that life then death are inevitable, our hearts are so broken to lose someone so bright, loving, thoughtful and so many more things. When I think of her I will always remember the good times and I can still hear the sweet sound of her laugh. She left a mark on our hearts and leaves behind the legacy of the beautiful family she helped to create. Our condolences to all of her family members and friends. Rest peacefully Kim, you will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kim at Bootcamp about 6 or 7 years ago. We would pair up for the more difficult plank taps and other “finishers” in the hopes that neither of us would crash and burn!
I remember her so fondly. She was definitely one of those people that you wanted to be around, to enjoy her love for life and family.
My heart felt sorrow to Dan, children and family.

I just learned of Kim’s death a few days ago. I was in touch with Kim at the onset of her cancer journey.
My heart aches for Dan and their 3 children. I remember when Alex came to Bootcamp with Kim, and I instantly became “Uncle Bob!”

Kim and I were Bootcamp Buddies and I was always impressed with her enthusiasm and effort to be a better person. I remember when she participated in the black dress competition. Kim had a beauty, both internally and externally. She was totally dedicated to her husband, Dan, and her three darling children. I’m sure that Dan and the kids, as well as Kim’s immediate family and friends and I, are totally devastated. The earth will miss a beat forever as it misses the zest of Kimberley Montgomery. I love you, Kim, and, I will keep praying for Dan and your kids. See you in heaven, dear Kim. 💔

I, just last week learned of Kim’s lost battle with cancer. But what a battle it was…she had the heart of a lion. My wife, Marian, and I would like to express our wish that we each of us strive to live the full and giving life that Kimberly achieved during her precious time with her family and friends. The spirit of goodness and hope be with you as we know it was with Kimberly.
