December 31, 1960~November 12, 2024

Kristal Marise Vacca, born on December 31, 1960, in Providence, Rhode Island, spent her early years in North Providence and Narragansett. In 1974, she moved with her parents to Key West, Florida, a place that would shape her life and passions. A proud graduate of Key West High School in 1979, Kristal began her professional journey working for the City Planner of the city of Key West.

In 1981, she married Billy Lambeth, a Key West charter boat captain and owner, and two years later, she welcomed her son Billy, the love of her life. Kristal’s dedication to personal growth led her to earn a degree in Cosmetology from Robert Morgan Vocational School in Miami in 1992. She became a licensed hairstylist in both Key West and Rhode Island. Later, she expanded her skills by earning a degree in medical transcription, working at Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West and South County Hospital in Rhode Island.

Kristal’s talents were numerous and varied and extended far beyond her professions. Her deep love for the ocean defined her life. She found joy in fishing, sailing, and immersing herself in the water, where she felt peace and tranquility. A gifted artist, she could often be found combing the beaches for sea glass, shells, and flotsam, transforming her discoveries into unique and cherished jewelry.

An additional, later love-interest was her violin.  She enjoyed playing the compositions of the masters as well as semi-classical and contemporary styles and often performed in concerts with other musicians. In her own words,… she said the violin had changed her life and brought her more joy than she had known in a long time.

True to the meaning of her name, “Kristal Marise”—“Christian of the Sea”—she embodied the spirit of the ocean she loved so deeply. Now, enjoying eternal peace and happiness – she is free to stream as a mermaid in the endless seas.
