Lenore Elaine Smith, born June 9th, 1947 to Helen Grayce Elvington and Leonard Smith, died August 1st, 2022. Elegant, independent, strong, loving, smart, genuine, kind, and unforgettable are all words that can be used to describe Elaine Smith. She loved the water whether it was captaining her sailboat, getting scuba certified, taking pictures of the local scenery, or just eating a baloney sandwich at the beach to celebrate a holiday her way. Elaine lived life on her terms and she was always admired for it. She had no children of her own but was a mother to many of us nieces and nephews, always there for guidance when we were lost, wisdom when we were
unsure, and a life raft to so many caught drowning in life. Elaine was always there to rescue a stray animal or the occasional human, her heart was too big to let anything suffer. As much as she loved her friends and family, it’s possible she loved her animal friends more. The world is definitely a better place because of her. She was preceded in death by sisters Helen and Carol Smith. She is survived by brother Mark Smith; nieces and nephews Lybra Mullineaux, Matt Veit, Josh Veit, David Tennant, Jesse Goodsell, and Eli Smith.
