May 28, 1959~December 29, 2022

Linda Francis Castillo, age 63, passed away in her home on Thursday December 29th 2022. Linda was born in Freeport, Long Island, NY, on  May 28th 1959 to her late mother, Nettie and her late father, Vincent Lopopolo; older brother Cory Lopopolo.

She met her husband, Mario Castillo, age 65, in 1979 at the Baldwin Coach Diner in Baldwin, Long Island. She became a mother to Daniel Castillo in September of 1989 and Christina Castillo in April of 1991. Linda is leaving behind 3 young beautiful grandchildren; Nicoletta, age 14, Apaulo, age 10 and Yalisa, age 7.

Linda was kind, giving and loving. She was the kind of person to give even when she had nothing for herself. Linda’s home was “the safe house” when her children were growing up, becoming “a second mother” and touching the lives of many. Linda knew her way around the kitchen; her red sauce was a dish never to forget. Linda also loved her cats and was commonly known as “the cat lady”.

Although Linda has passed away, her soul will continue living on through her adoring family and friends. We know that God is pleased to have one of his kind and generous angels back at home where she belongs. She will be sorely missed by those on earth.

There will be a funeral service held for her on the 15th of January at 2pm at Dobies Funeral Home in Hudson, FL on the corner of Hicks Road and Hudson Avenue. All are welcome to come. This day will be a day for everyone to remember the happiest moments with Linda.

Linda, hey.. I know it’s been a while.. my mum used to sit for your wonderful kids. The two who became a second family to me growing up. Honestly, I’m so sad to hear you had to leave way too soon. My mum, Joyce, was just as shocked. Fly free, you wonderful lady, knowing you left a beautiful legacy behind. Never will you be forgotten. Shine on with your everlasting light.

Linda,
We’ve been friends since
teenagers, we may not have seen each other all the time, but when we did we just picked up just like it was yesterday. We always had fun, we were crazy at times but we liked it that way, casinos, lobsters, Birthday parties at the Lucky Dill. And just having some good laughs.I’m missing you , I’m glad I have a friend I can trust.
I will miss our talks, I must say God has gained a beautiful and loving Angel indeed. May you rest in peace ! Gone too soon.
I send to your family my thoughts and prayers. 🙏💔
Love ,
Maria
