April 10, 1973~April 02, 2022

Green, Lisa Renee, 48, of Ruskin, Florida, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 2, 2022.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 10, 1973, a daughter of Gary and Jacqueline Prickett.

The family soon moved to Cole Camp, Missouri, where she remained until graduating from Cole Camp High School in 1991.

She enjoyed acting and performed in plays at the Liberty Center Association for the Arts in Sedalia and the Royal Theatre in Versailles, both in Missouri. In high school, she participated in Drama Club, competed at state and accompanied her high school choir while studying piano.

She attended Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, graduating in three years with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Journalism.

From childhood, she longed to put on Dorothy’s slippers and find out what’s just beyond the horizon.

After college, she moved to Connecticut, where she nannied for a short time before returning to Missouri.

She moved to Sedalia, where she dabbled in several professions. Her favorite was writing for the Sedalia Democrat newspaper, where she made a habit of turning routine assignments into entertaining and colorful copy.

While confessing to enjoying the people more than the deadlines, she remained a great writer and adept storyteller throughout her life.

In June of 2006, she married Jeffrey Green. Since she was always up for an adventure, she excitedly moved to Florida that summer with him and her children/stepchildren (Jeffrey, Shai, Mercedes, Gage and Blake).

Lisa quickly adjusted to the Florida lifestyle of beaches and sunshine. She relished being a stay-at-home mom and self-proclaimed “queen of Casa Verde.”

She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her.

She enjoyed volunteering, helping people, and infecting those around her with her charisma and singular joie de vivre.

In 2008, Lisa decided to pursue her dream of owning a business and purchased a Just Between Friends franchise with another partner.

She and Jeff were blessed with three more children (McKenna, Dawson and Reid) over the next several years.

When one was diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome, Lisa and Jeff confidently leapt into raising a child with special needs.

“Funny what a little extra chromosome will do,” Lisa said. “We have learned so much as a family. We enjoy the victories so much more now.” She believed he was the perfect addition to her family and would often say, “He was just what this family needed.”

Lisa loved people and animals and enjoyed spreading happiness to others. She gave to anyone in need.

A woman of deep faith, she wanted everyone to be reconciled in heaven someday.

Her smile and laugh could light up a room. Her outgoing personality, disarming wit and determination to “always be kind” quickly made friends of strangers.

She loved spending time with her family, cooking meals, baking, reading and solving puzzles.

She enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables, peaches, avocados and citrus in her back yard.

She insisted that “broken roads often make a journey all the more rewarding.”

“God gives you what you need, not what you want,” she once stated. “And it has been AMAZING.”

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Green; father, Gary Prickett; sister, Lori Prickett; stepson, Jeffrey Green; stepdaughter, Shai Green; daughter, Mercedes (Conner) Teiberis; stepson Jacob Carroll; son, Gage Reynolds; son, Blake Reynolds; daughter, McKenna Green; son, Dawson Green; son, Reid Green; granddaughter, Ava Teiberis, and granddaughter, Cora Teiberis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Prickett.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 27922 Seven Hills Rd, Cole Camp, MO 65325.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am and all are invited to attend lunch following the services.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on May 14, 2022, at Starkey Community Center, 12131 Rangeland Blvd., Odessa, FL 33556 for friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Down Syndrome and Special Needs, 11612 Miss Chloe Court, Riverview, FL 33579 or through Paypal at Donate (paypal.com).
