Louis C. Olivier of New Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was 86. Born in East Harlem on 105th St. in New York City on April 7, 1937 to Louis and Angelina Olivier.
“Louie”, as he was affectionately known, was a talented and knowledgeable general contractor and built many beautiful custom homes. He was a gentle giant and always cracking a joke, although most of them only funny to himself. He was a Jack of all trades and a skilled handyman which kept him busy around the house. In his spare time, he was often found with his earphones on in front of the TV watching his favorite westerns. Oddly enough, this native New Yorker was an avid fan of his Boston Red Sox and took great pride in the fact that he recruited two of his grandsons, Dean and James, to cheer the Sox on with him.
A committed son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he cherished his family and his friendships.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife together for 46 years and married for 39, Manya Olivier (née Sieniawski); loving children, Lou Olivier and wife Amy, Gary Olivier and wife Eileen, Robin DeLorenzo, Bruce DeLorenzo, Christina Cerza and husband Gerald; cherished grandchildren, Cassie, Alyssa, Lexi, Frankie, Alexa, Matthew, James, Dean, Julia, Taylor, Carly, Zachary, Summer, Cooper; great grandchildren Levi, Bristol, Dixie, Alexander, Wyatt, Oliver, Lukas; sister-in-law Rita Olivier, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his dear siblings, Lucy Cordani, Rinaldo Olivier, and George Olivier.
To honor his life, family and friends will gather on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY where a funeral service will be held at 10:45 am and March 13, 2024 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in New Port Richey FL where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. A repast will follow each service for a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers please direct all donations to St. Jude‘s Children’s Hospital in Louis’ name.
