Marc Anthony Vargas 48, passed October 17th at home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a successful business owner of Greenscene Lawn & Landscape LLC. A certified master diver (scuba), Marc had a great passion for boating, diving and spending quality time with loved ones.
He leaves his loving wife, Anne M Vargas as well as sons Rashad E (Cecelia), Larry and Amari J. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Greyson, Genevieve and Noah of Holiday Fl. He also leaves his mother, Joaquina Flores of Tampa, his father Luis Vargas of New York and brothers Rafael and Fernando Gonzalez both of Tampa. Also surviving him are his sister Luz Frances Rivera of Riverview Fl, four nephews and two nieces. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday October 21 at 3pm. A celebration of life service will take place at 4pm both at the Thomas B Dobies Funeral Home 701 E Tarpon ave. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to the American Cancer Society at

Marc was a good man. I felt it in my heart from the very first time we met. I knew that he was a man of principle, a man of faith, a brilliant father and husband. A man of many and yet so few are like him. To Ann- I had a chat with him once when he first became sick. we spoke about family and honor and love. How deep that man loved you and his life. He expressed that he could have the world but with out you to share it with, it would all be meaningless. His family meant everything to him. I know that u already know this but he loved and honored you so unconditionally. You were what held him together. Those were his words..
We all wish we could help to ease your heart, However as we know, only the spirit of God can sooth the absence of Marc.

To my uncle Mikey. He wuz a great man. He showed me a lot growing up in my life. I learn how to cut grass and trees because of him. I lived with him when I wuz in high school. Always had a good time man. Let me cut his hair when I had finished barber school just so I can show him I can cut if your no my uncle his hair wuz everything to him lol. I remember he will always talk to me about my lil Cuzin that got taking away from him because his baby momma wuz a bad lady. But god no he wuz a great man. Dear precious Anne and all who have been effected by our loss of Marc, It was such an honor and privilege to be a part of Marc’s journey of finding faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and we are just so thankful that he is resting in peace in his Father’s arms with no more sorrow and no more pain. Anna it’s very sad to hear of your husband passing. I had only met him once at your nephews wedding and liked him immediately. My prayers are with you and yours Billy
