July 11, 1965~December 09, 2024
In Loving Memory of Maribel Guzmán-Matos,
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Maribel, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left us on December 9, 2024 at the age of 59. Maribel was a beacon of love, kindness, and passion, whose memory will forever be treasured by all who knew her.
Maribel was born on a beautiful Sunday afternoon on July 11, 1965 in Barrío Obrero. Santurce. From a young age, she displayed a zest for life that inspired everyone around her. Her love for the beach was unparalleled; the sound of the waves and ocean breezes brought to her immense joy and peace.
Her culinary talents were equally remarkable. A master in the kitchen, she poured her heart into every dish she prepared and watching how everyone loved her delicious meals, bought joy to her heart. Her recipes were more than just a daily meal; they were an expressions of her love, and each bite was a reminder of her nurturing spirit.
Above all, Maribel was passionate about her cats (Kiri, Nena & Ñequí) who brought her endless joy. With her husband Juan they builded a home filled of love that invited so many loved ones to be part of their lives.
Maribel’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, joy, and dedication. She is survived by her loving husband, Juan Guzmán and her beloved daughter Michelle Arely. She will be deeply missed but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her.
Rest in peace, dear Maribel. Your spirit will forever dance on the waves, and your love will always nourish our souls.

Dear Juan and family, this is pam the blueberry lady. Every year Maribel would come pick berries, pay for them, and then go home and bake a blueberry cake for me! What a sweetheart!
My thoughts are with you,
Pam Raymond
