Martha F Fleigner

October 20, 1943~November 09, 2022
Martha Frances Fleigner passed away in the early morning of November 9th, 2022, in her favorite chair in her home with her loving husband John by her side. She was 79 years old.
Martha was born on October 20th, 1943, in New York, NY. At the age of 18 years old, she met John at a local dance, and, against many odds, they have been inseparable ever since for 59 beautiful years of marriage. Martha was an extraordinarily proud mother of children John and Jim, daughters-in-law Dawn Gates and Laura Ferretti, and an even prouder grandmother to grandson Keegan Fleigner. Martha and John valued family above all else.
Everyone who met Martha was touched by her warmth, optimism, and kindness for both loved ones and strangers alike. Even as her age and health gradually caught up to her, she was kind and loving to everyone she met. During the final challenging years of her life, she spoke regularly about how grateful she was to have lived her life, in large part due to the relationships she had gained at all stops of her journey. All who knew her were touched by her warm smile, her favorite sayings, and her quiet resolve to not allow any obstacles in her life to diminish her joy. She will be missed and loved.

My family has been so blessed to have a 58 year friendship with Marty, John and family.
Memories of those years will always be in our hearts. Marty was the most wonderful kind sweet strong woman I knew.
The world would be a better place if more people lived a life like Marty. May your family find peace in the love she had for all of you.

She will always be Aunt Marty. Growing up across the street in Selden, I could always count on her if I needed anything. Especially a forgotten front door key. Grateful for all of the memories I will keep close to my heart. Sending all of my love to John, Johnny, and Jim. Hugs!
