Mary Rose Crowley

March 27, 1937~October 14, 2020

Mary Rose Crowley, 83, of New Port Richey passed away Oct. 14, 2020. Mary Rose was born in Malden, Massachusetts the daughter of James and Margaret (Kerrigan) McGonagle. She was a former Grief Counselor with the Citrus County Hospice, a member of the American Legion of Holiday and a member of the Marine Corp League of Holiday and New Port Richey.

Mary Rose is survived by her daughter Alta Driscoll-Adams of Holiday, FL, sons Thomas Driscoll of Bridgewater, MA, Donald Driscoll and his wife Michelle of Middleboro, MA, sister Peg Dolan, 5 grandchildren Nicole, Chandler Jay, Joey, and Sara and great granddaughter Riley.

Mary Rose was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt and friend first and foremost. Then came into her own when she embraced the role of Gram to her many grandchildren and great granddaughter. She had a smile that lit up the room, a laugh that made you want to laugh along and the uncanny ability of telling it like it is. She had a genuine heart of gold but you had to beware the “zoot” of her infamous pointer finger. Mary Rose had a potent personality that flowed seamlessly from sassy scraper to loving caretaker, a true original spirit that will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who have had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be missed terribly.

A celebration of life will be had with family in Massachusetts and also a memorial in Florida for her friends and family here. Dates for both events to be announced in the near future.

I'm sure going to miss you Mary Rose. You were such a special lady! I loved sitting and chatting with you. You helped me so much in so many ways that you probably didn't even realize. I am so very thankful for that and for you. I love you Mama Mary and I am going to miss you, but I know God welcomed you with open arms and for that I am very happy.

Our deepest sympathy to Maryrose’s family. We will always cherish the many good times we spent together. The St. Patrick’s Day and Kentucky Derby Day parties were some of the best times! Our love and prayers are with her family and many friends.

I’ve known Mary for almost 60 years. She was a feisty but generous woman. I was sad when I heard the news of her passing but I know that she is happy seeing her parents, her sister and her brothers. My love and prayers are with her family. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.

There would be too many words to fit here if I tried. We had a bond that has lasted for about 30 plus years. So many laughs along with a few tears.
She generated love wherever she was. I can't imagine how many or much she will be missed. Her strong belief I am sure United her to the people she had missed for years. Just imagine the ruckus when she arrived in heaven! Love you woman!
