Mary Vaporis Pikos, 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend fell asleep peacefully in our Lord Jesus Christ on August 8, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She was preceded into His kingdom by her beloved husband Tony of 64 years, her parents, Michael and Kaliope Vaporis, and her brothers, Fr. Nomikos Vaporis, Attorney John Vaporis, and Fr. George Vaporis.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 2, 1930, Mary grew up in Campbell, Ohio and is a 1948 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.  She attended St. Basil’s Academy in Garrison, New York and returned to Campbell where she met her husband, Tony.  They were married on October 16, 1949 and were blessed with three children that they joyfully raised in Campbell.

In 1985 Tony and Mary relocated to Tarpon Springs, Florida.  Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a devout Orthodox Christian of great faith and spiritual strength.  She faithfully lived her solid core values and will always be remembered for her radiant smile, kind demeanor and passion to always help others.  She touched so many lives during her lifetime.  She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her unwavering faith was equaled only by her unconditional love for her entire family.  Always smiling, always giving, always helping, always caring – she was the epitome of selflessness.

She is survived by her three children, Dr. Michael (Diane) A. Pikos of Palm Harbor, Colleen Pikos and Anna Pikos of Tarpon Springs; grandchildren, John Pikos, Maria (Kosta) Karatzas, Virginia (John) Brokalakis, Dr. Lindsey (Samuel) Pikos Rosati, Dr. Tony (Rebecca) Pikos and great grandchildren; Tony, Michael, Georgie, Anna, Giuliana, Ella Sophia, and Andrew Samuel.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a funeral service starting at 11:00 am, all on Tuesday August 10^th, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Tarpon Springs. Interment will immediately follow at Cycadia Cemetery. Dobies Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
