Yvette Marie Gordon was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on March 17, 2022, at age 72.
She was born to Modesta and Luciano Ortiz on September 20, 1949, in Queens, New York, and spent her childhood in Long Island. It’s there where she met the love of her life, Brian Gordon, and his three children. After moving to Florida, Yvette and Brian had three more children: Dawn, Cheryl, and Nicole, and built their life together.
In addition to being a stay-at-home mom, she worked countless jobs and volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader for each of her daughters’ troops. Yvette loved crafting, cooking for her family, and being surrounded by loved ones. She never left the house without her mascara and lipstick freshly done. She loved to wear bright colors and spend weekends riding around town and shopping with her daughters. Her humor, hugs, unconditional support and advice will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her three daughters, three step-children, thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Brian; daughter Kareen; parents Modesta and Luciano; and sister Norma.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Advent Wesley Chapel and Moffit (USF campus) for the compassionate care they provided.
A private celebration of life will be held in Tampa, Florida.

Dear Cheryl, Nicole, Stella, Brian,
Dale and I are so very sorry for your loss of wonderful Yvette. While we didn’t know her well, we do know that she brought joy with her whenever she visited. I will think of her every time I play scratch and win. I know that no words will bring comfort. I hope that time will lessen the pain and strengthen the joy of her memory. Much love, Constance
