Michael L. Hudson Sr., born on June 19, 1942, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Hudson, Florida.
Michael graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1962 and embarked on a successful career as a skilled diesel mechanic. He began his professional journey with Motor Convoy in West Columbia, South Carolina. In December 1975, he relocated to Town N Country, Florida and continued his work with Allied Systems in Tampa before settling in Shady Hills, FL. A proud member of Teamsters Union 79, Michael was widely respected for his dedication and craftsmanship throughout his career.
A man of unwavering faith and devotion, Michael was a cherished member of Life Church in Spring Hill, Florida. His love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured moments spent with family. Whether enjoying a cup of black coffee or sharing time with loved ones, Michael’s warmth and steadfast faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Willie Mae Hudson; their three children: Angela (Dale) Veasey, Michael (Rebecca) Hudson Jr., and W. Timothy ( Amanda) Hudson; eight grandchildren: James Veasey, Dale Veasey Jr., Christy Smit, Jonathan Veasey, Anthony Hudson, Laura Hudson, Nathaniel Hudson, and Eden Hudson; and eight great-grandchildren: Chase Lamontagne, Logan Smit, Amelia Smit, Madison Veasey, Emma Veasey, Gauge Veasey, Colt Veasey, and Brighid Veasey.
A viewing and service will be held at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home at 9944 Hudson Avenue in Hudson, Florida. The viewing and service will take place on January 23, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Grace Memorial Gardens located at 16931 US Highway 19 North in Hudson.
Michael’s memory will live on through the legacy of faith and love he instilled in his family and friends. May those who mourn his passing find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with the Lord he so deeply loved.

Condolences to Michael’s Family. He will be greatly missed. Michael was kind and thoughtful, always there to Pray or lend a hand. God Promises to comfort those that Mourn. I loved spending time with Michael and Willie Mae. My heart is sad. Blessing to the ones he left behind.
