Ned A. Cohen

Ned A. Cohen

December 27, 1947~August 05, 2021

Ned Cohen, 73, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021, with his soulmate Liz and loving daughter Sarah by his side. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Louis and Edna Rosenstein Cohen.

Ned and Liz raised their family in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, establishing many lifelong friendships. Prior to moving to Florida, Ned was the owner of Hi-Performance Auto Parts, a salesman for Big Yank, Otter Pops, owner of Left Field Baseball Cards, and owner of Details Auto Shop. Ned established himself in Florida as a general contractor and the owner of NCI Construction. Ned had a remarkable vision for beautiful home improvements, taking pride in always doing his best work. Ned had many hobbies and was an avid collector. Outside of Liz and his family, his greatest passions were his dogs, cars, and attending numerous car shows where he earned many awards. The remarkable bond between Ned and Liz was evident to all who knew them throughout their almost forty years together.

Ned is survived by his wife Liz (Gribbin) Cohen, daughter Sarah and husband, Jim Sianis, Greensboro, NC, and his two loving grandsons Louis and AJ in addition to the extended family of cousins and many friends.

A special thank you to the staff at Bayonet Point Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and extraordinary care given to Ned and Liz.

Service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Six O’Clock p.m. at Dobies Funeral Homes in Hudson, Florida.

Donations can be made to The Angelus 12413 Hudson Avenue, Hudson, Florida 34669.

Lizzy,
A massive loss for the countless friends this man accumulated wherever he ventured. He was a great neighbor, mentor to our kids, caretaker of any need that anyone asked of him, and a dear friend. I will miss our catch-up get togethers, commiserating about politics, and sharing bragging rights about our families. Rest In Peace my Hamburglar friend.
With love,
Bob (Mayor McCheese) and Farzi

Like his cars Ned was a true classic. I had the pleasure of helping Ned and Liz purchase their Swan Lake home and from that experience grew a great friendship. He will be deeply missed by all.

I met Ned when he was working for a Tennis Court co. That had to be 25 years ago. We had the same interest Chevrolet Muscle Cars. Thus we became good friends. I know that this unexpected tragedy has stunned and sadden all who knew Ned. My family’s prayers are with the Cohen Family.

So very shocked by this news. Very heartbreaking. Very glad we spent so much time with you both on our last visit. Thinking of all the great times bowling, years of softball and watching the Lakers in the NBA playoffs til the wee hours on his large projection TV. A true friend to everyone in the absolute sense. He will be so missed by all. Our deepest prayers are with you and Sarah. We were all better off by knowing him. RIP old friend.
