With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patrice “Tricia” Angel Johnson, who left us far too soon at the age of 50 on June 13, 2025, in her hometown of New Port Richey, Florida.
Born on August 29, 1974, in New Port Richey, Tricia was the daughter of Wayne and Debra (Dillard) Johnson and a loving wife to Donald “Donny” DeVault. She lived a life rooted in love, strength, and fierce devotion to her family. She was a proud mother to Shawn Poff (Olivia), Kristyn Mills (Kimble), and Kira Steger (Gabriel), and a joyful, doting grandmother to four cherished grandchildren – Kash, Kali, Gabriel, and Aurora. Her family was her world, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with those she loved most.
Tricia found her true partner in life with Donny, the love of her life. Together, they shared a deep bond filled with laughter, loyalty, and unwavering love. She was not only an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother but also a fiercely loyal friend. Someone you could always count on to show up, speak the truth, and offer her whole heart.
A dedicated professional, Tricia earned a BA in Social and Criminal Justice and an AS in Crime Scene Technology. She brought that same dedication and strength to her work as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service.
Tricia had a special love for animals, especially her cherished dog, Zoey, who was always by her side. A proud Florida Gators fan, she enthusiastically cheered on her team.
A celebration of Tricia’s life will be held at a later date, where those who loved her can gather to share stories, laughter, and memories that reflect the beautiful life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice https://www.chaptershealth.org/foundation/hph-hospice-donation/ or Runaways Animal Rescue. https://www.runawaysanimalrescue.org/
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love she gave so freely and the legacy she leaves behind in her children, grandchildren, and all those lucky enough to call her family or friend.

Tricia was so great to us in helping us when our son was very sick with love and lifting our hearts. She always had words that made us believe there was sunlight upon us.
Tricia, we miss you dearly and soon enough we’ll see you on the other side.

I worked with Tricia for years at the US Postal Service. We had many interesting conversations, I was especially intrigued how knowledgeable she was in so many areas. She was loved by everyone who knew her at work, a truly kind person.

Tricia your smile would light up a room. I was honored to have you call me mom when you and Hope were at the house. Ricky loved you so much. He enjoyed having you work with him. I know you two are sharing stories now in Heaven. You are pain free and will always be in all of our hearts. Rest in Peace my sweet child.

Trish, you were the best of the best! We practically lived at one another’s house when were kids, and for forty years our lives have intertwined in ways we never expected, but always fun! Time itself couldn’t break our bond, I loved that about us. No judgement, no hesitation, just open arms filled with love and laughter. Thank you for being my ride or die!! You touched people’s lives in so many ways and I feel so blessed to have been apart of your life. i will miss you beautiful girl.

Aunt Trish,
No words can describe the type of person you were. Always out there, always loud and proud! And always so loving with arms wide open! I will always cherish every memory I have with you 💕 I wish you could have met all my kids. They would have lived every crazy, fun moment with you as I did. My time spent with you was the BEST of all. My whole childhood consist of you and mom together. I only wish I had photos from every memory to share to the world and my kids. I’m beyond blessed to have called you my AUNT. I love you so much my beautiful ❤️ rest easy. Keep an eye on everyone. I’ll see you again one day!
