Patricia Fyke

September 13, 1949~April 22, 2023

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patty Fyke of Hudson, Florida, on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. Patty was 73. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, sister, and friend. Patty was born in Neustadt, Germany to Leslie and Helen Corder, and Emigrated to the US in 1952. She quickly settled into rural life in Ohio and spent her younger years working on neighboring farms and cultivating her love of horses and every other animal under the sun.

In 1983 she fulfilled a longstanding dream to escape winter and moved to Florida. She finally got her own little farm in Hudson in the 1990s and lived there until her death. She spent many years working in the financial equipment industry, starting with Diebold and ending at Premier Security. Many of her coworkers became lifelong friends. She never knew how to relax, so she spent free evenings and weekends bartending and befriended just about everyone she served.

She was a devoted mother to Gwen and a doting grandmother to Andy. She never missed a baseball or flag football game – especially if there was a good snack bar! She could always be counted on for fun and laughter.

It’s hard to overstate Patty’s love of animals. From wayward cats to homeless horses, and dogs of all types, she just could never say no. Over the years, her pets included birds, snakes, lizards, fish, chickens, rabbits, and even, once a goat named Clyde.

Patty will be deeply missed by her daughter Gwen (Rob) Kozlowski, her grandson Andy Kozlowski, her sisters Ruth Thomas, Linda Fitzgerald, Carol (Ray) Bland, and Peggy (Robert) Miller, and many nieces, nephews and other family.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her son.  She will always live on in memories of those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society of Pasco County.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
