Paul Eugene Dierking, 95, of New Port Richey, FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 9, 2023.
Paul was born on April 22, 1928 to Henry and Agnes Dierking in Sioux City, Iowa. After briefly serving his country in the Navy at the end of WWII, Paul went on to serve in the Korean War. Following his military service he married Joanne Hicklin, also of Sioux City, and together they raised three children.
Paul graduated from Morningside College and received a Master’s degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. He was an educator and administrator for many decades in Illinois, Iowa and then in Florida. He loved working with his fellow teachers and administrators, and had a passion for helping students exceed their potential.
In his free time, Paul loved playing cards, reading Clive Cussler novels, and spending time with his family. After retiring in 1994, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Joanne to Branson, Missouri and other places in the Mid-West. Paul was always quick with a joke and kept the family on their toes with his sense of humor.
Paul is survived by his children, Diane (Eddie), David, and Leanne (Kenny); seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister Margaret Ann Dierking of DeKalb, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joanne.
Paul, along with his wife, will be interred at Logan Park Cemetary in Sioux City, Iowa. There will be a graveside service for the family. Condolences may be sent to 7213 Daggett Terrace, New Port Richey, FL 34655.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember spending time with both Paul and Joanne when they would visit my grandparents , Floyd and Sharon Butler. Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how special your dad was to you. I’m sorry you were only able to live near him for a couple of months. After reading his obituary I see he was a very special dad. Hold on to your memories.
