April 08, 1937~December 25, 2021

Lares, Peter L., 84, loving husband, father and papou, fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at home on Saturday, December 25th.  Born in Magoula, Sparta Greece, Peter immigrated to the US at the young age of 12 with his family.  They joined his uncles in Harvard, Ill. to achieve the American dream.  He went to school, learned the language and worked hard to help support his family.  In 1965, he returned to Magoula where he married Emily, the girl across the street.  Together they returned to Chicago determined to work hard and succeed in life.  In 1977, they moved to Dunedin.  Peter owned and operated the Dunedin Grill.  In the years to follow, Peter, with Emily by his side, opened and operated 8 restaurants.  Peter is best known for owning and operating Emily’s Restaurants throughout Pinellas and Citrus counties.  Along the way Peter helped many people.  Peter was humble, worked hard and succeeded with honesty and dignity. Peter was proud of his Greek heritage and lived by his Orthodox faith.  Peter was also proud of the new country he had immigrated to.  He was a proud American citizen!  Spending time with his family, friends and garden is what he loved the most!  His family meant everything to him!

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emily, his daughters Debbie (Tom) Nicklow and Evie (Bill) Filides and his 3 beautiful granddaughters, Emily & Maria Nicklow and Victoria Filides.
