Phyllis Lorene Kurtti

Phyllis Kurtti, age 88, a longtime resident of Holiday, Florida, formerly of Girard, Illinois, passed away on April 13, 2020. Phyllis Kurtti (England) grew up in Girard, Illinois, graduating with Girard High School Class of 1950. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana, where she met her first husband, Joseph Kurtti. Phyllis and Joe were married on August 23, 1953, in Girard, Illinois, but divorced in 1980. After moving to Holiday, Phyllis met her long-time mate, Richard Campbell who passed in January 2015.

After teaching music for several years, Phyllis moved to Florida and worked as a Medical Office Manager for Dr. Harding until her retirement. Phyllis loved entertaining, playing piano, shopping, traveling, and spending time with extended family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, Florida where she enjoyed Sunday School classes and singing in the choir for many years.

Phyllis is survived by her nephew Rev. G. Patrick (Lisa) England of Holland, MI, and niece, Susan (Jonathan) Dennis of Bowling Green, KY, and nephew Steven (Kathryn) Holl of Traverse City, MI, and niece Janet Tegel of Elk Rapids, MI, as well as many great nephews and nieces. She was proceeded in death by her brother, Gene England, and her parents Clyde and Vera England.

Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Dobies Funeral Home, in Holiday, Florida.
