Ray retired after 25 years from Hillsborough County School Transportation Department where he was a Fleet Supervisor. But after retiring he continued to work as an Apprentice Coordinator encouraging men and women to continue their education in the diesel industry.
In 2001 Ray and his loving partner Lynn Summerlin had their second chance at love again after the loss of each other’s spouse. They have shared a wonderful and cherished life together for 22 years.
Ray was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping and a good classic car show. He was always building something or remodeling on his home. Ray never stopped watching his old childhood funny tv shows. He loved to travel and was able to see many of the sights of our beautiful country and Italy. He was very knowledgeable in the history of our country and others. He was also researching more of his family history from Ancestry and was very excited that he had found lost family. Of course his passion for good food like pizza was a must!!! Oh the pizza he has eaten!!!!
He is survived by; his loving partner Lynn Summerlin, daughter Shirley(Kevin Sr.) Kraemer, granddaughter Ashley (James) Mejia, grandson Kevin Jr. Kraemer, And great granddaughter Karlie Kraemer, son Ray Jr. (Patty) Lemmons, grandson Christopher (Brittany) Lemmons, Granddaughters Sammantha and Kaitlynn Lemmons, daughter Melissa (Shawn) McNulty, daughter Stephanie Lemmons and Granddaughter Magnolia (Maggie), Step daughter Wendy Hall and granddaughter Katlynne Pettigrew, brother in law and sister in law Richard and Betty Peltier , sister in law Cathy and adopted grandson Amir. Ray was an outstanding gentleman. He was a great boss. Joe Jones loved to catch up with him and go fishing. I do believe they both enjoyed that peaceful time any time that they could go. Lynn, I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain of losing your beloved one. Ray is with Joe in Heaven and I can only dream of the stories that they are sharing. Love you More.
