September 17, 1923~July 08, 2025

Regina Harriet Lucek, 101, of Holiday, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.  A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Regina lived a long and full life centered around family, faith, and service.

Born in 1923 in Albion, Michigan, Regina Masternak—affectionately known as “Jean” to many of her friends—was one of seven children of the late Michael and Anna Romanowski. She grew up on the family farm, where she learned the values of hard work, love, and perseverance that would shape the rest of her life.

In 1946, she married the love of her life, Victor Michael Lucek.  The happy couple welcomed their daughter Sandra and son Victor to complete their family.  They lived in Michigan before moving to Ludlow, Massachusetts in the early 1950s.  Regina worked as an office manager for the Hobart Corporation while raising her children and maintaining a warm and lively home. In 1975, Regina and Victor retired to Holiday, Florida, where they embraced a new chapter- semi-retirement.

Regina had a zest for life and a heart full of love. She adored dancing, traveling, playing cards, and trying her luck at the slot machines. Her warmth, resilience, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.  A dedicated community member, Regina was actively involved in the Polish League of American Veterans, where she served as State Treasurer, and she was also a proud member of the Polaski Club.

Regina is survived by her daughter Sandra Maitland and son-in-law William, her son Victor Lucek, Jr. and daughter-in-law Sherry; her beloved grandchildren Rebecca Ahlf (Louis), Michael Lucek, and Kathryn Lucek (Susan); and four great-grandchildren, Rocco Cardinale and Brendan, Ryan, and Samantha Ahlf. She is also survived by her brother Edward and sister-in-law Gertrude, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Victor M. Lucek, Sr.; her siblings Lois, John, Joe, Mike, and Andy; and her grandson-in-law Frank Cardinale.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Regina’s heart, or to Hernando Pasco Hospice, whose compassionate care provided comfort in her final days.

Regina’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
