Richard was fondly known as Ricky to friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Lutrell Peacock and James Wells and his wife Rita Wells.
He left behind his fiancée Jacqueline, children Richard Wells, Raven Wells-Dadon and his son in law Itai Dadon. His siblings Patricia, Victoria, Deborah, James, Wendy, and Michele who all miss him.
Born in Tarpon Springs and grew up in the surrounding area for the majority of his life. It was impossible for him to do even a simple errand without running into a familiar face.
He loved football, watching movies and TV. On days when his favorite football teams the Auburn Tigers or Tampa Bay Buccaneers were playing, his enthusiastic yells could be heard all the way down the street.
He was known for hosting cookouts with friends and family, as well as holiday dinners, and for always having a glass of iced-tea, or a beer in a styrofoam cup.
He was known for his charm, warmth, and humor. He enjoyed being the life of the party. He could make anyone smile and laugh with his witty comebacks and beaming ear to ear grins. Everyone always knew when he was around because of his distinctive, booming voice and infectious laughter. He was known for being a smart aleck, cracking jokes, telling stories and for being incredibly gracious.
Ricky touched the life of so many people. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always there when you needed him. He had many friends and was well loved. His memory will be cherished deeply by all that knew and loved him. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

My Uncle Ricky was always one text away with the reminder that while some may hurt you with their words or actions they did not have the power to control how you handled the situation. I needed that text more often than I can count, but he made sure that no matter what life threw at me I knew w loved and I was stronger than I could imagine. While I want to cry and scream over his death and how unfair it is that another great man was taken to soon, I rejoice in knowing that he had a welcoming party on the other side full of love and light. We may never understand the whys but we will always remember his love and laughter. Godspeed Uncle Ricky until we meet again.
