Richard H. Bird Jr., 77 of Hudson, passed away on July 26, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1944, in Canonsburg, PA. the son of the late Richard and Mary (DuVall) Bird Sr. Richard was raised in the Methodist church.

Richard is survived by his wife Beth Bird of Hudson, son Carlos Rodriguez and his fiancé Shannon Taylor of New Port Richey, 2 sisters Joyce O’Bryon and her husband Harold of PA., Sally Andy of PA., brother David Bird and his companion Stephanie of New York, sister-in-law Rhonda Davis and her son of Ohio, sister-in-law Teresa A. Kane of Hudson and her children, brothers-in-law Michael L. Davis of Ohio and Jeffery S. Davis of Florida, a beloved mother-in-law Jean A.  Marshall of Ohio, as well as many loved and cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Richard served and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He was known to family and friends as ‘Richie’ or ‘Rick’. Richard was a former manager with Kiplinger Publications for many years. Rick attended Canon-McMillan high school in Canonsburg, PA, and graduated in 1962. While there, he actively participated in many sports. Rick had many loves including animals, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, bowling, golfing, skydiving, and fishing. He was an avid life-long fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the Washington Redskins football teams. He watched every game he could for both teams. Most importantly, Rick loved his family. Everything he did was for them.

A visitation will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dobies Funeral Home Seven Springs Chapel, 8825 Old County Rd 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM.

Dear Beth and Family,
