I am deeply saddened to hear of Rich’s passing. I am thankful I had the opportunity to work with him as an inspector at ATF. He was highly respected. His humble confidence, integrity and good will were invaluable traits that inspired those who trained with him, worked with him and were inspected by him. He will be so missed. Thank you Rich

I am so sorry to hear of Rich’s passing. I worked with him for 4 years in Tampa and he was quite simply one of the sharpest Investigators I ever had the pleasure of working with. Going to Jersey Mikes for a sub whenever we were in the office together became a tradition that I always looked forward to and are memories I will always treasure. He will be greatly missed.

To the D’Agostiono Family:

My sincerest condolences on Rich’s passing.

I met Rich at one of the advanced trainings put on by ATF and throughout that training, I got to know him a lil bit. Being that both of us were from NY State, we already had things common to discuss including Harley’s and Cars. As such, he loved his family, his friends & his LE career with the NY State Police & ATF. We stayed in contact after that training too and although we met as strangers, we parted as friends. There can be no doubt that God has another Angel to count among his ranks.

Very sorrow to hear about Rich’s passing. As one of the businesses inspected by Rich it was refreshing to see how dedicated and professional he was in dealing with the individuals with whom he came in contact.
His service in the Navy, Coast Guard, NYPD, and ATF illustrated a life long dedication to helping all those whose paths he crossed. We wish his family well during their time of grief and hope they will have many fond memories to fall back on when remembering his lifetime of service to so many.

First let me say to the entire D’Agostino family how sorry I am for your loss and my most sincere condolences. I Pray that God takes you into his fold and comforts you through these times of sorrow. I told someone earlier today I didn’t know which was greater the shock or the sadness of hearing about Rich’s passing. I first met Rich in 2013 at a training seminar. Then reunited with him in 2016 on a detail in WV for 90 days. We had similar backgrounds, I myself am a Naval Veteran, and a retired Police Officer as well. We shared a lot good times in just a short period. Two old cops talking about the past sipping scotch, smoking cigars and telling war stories and talking about our families. I will cherish the memories we made together in a short period of time. Once again may God bless you, comfort you and see you through these times of grief.

My most sincere condolences to the entire D’Agostino family for your loss. I had the honor of being Richard’s recruit counselor at the New York State Police Academy. He was one of the finest young men to ever put on the Gray Bag. He was always on top of everything at the academy; his studies, his uniform care, and his perfect deportment. The man was so intelligent and personable, he sure made my job easy. I knew that Richard had made Zone Sergeant, but I had not seen him since he graduated from the Academy. The one thing that really makes me sad is finding out that he lived in Tarpon Springs and I live right down the road in Dunedin. He will never know the wonderful legacy that he left behind and all of the people he touched, thereby enriching their lives.

My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Rich. Rich and I were academy classmates. Throughout our years of service, we would run into one another at one training or another. Simply put, he was really good people. I have found that it is never easy to lose a beloved family member, no matter the circumstance and no matter how much you prepare. Please find a little comfort knowing that people care about you, your family and only wish you peace and comfort for you and your loved ones.
