Robbin Stephens

October 21, 1944~April 16, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robbin W. Stephens. She passed away quietly at her home with her daughter, Victoria Jones, at her side on April 16th, 2023.

Robbin was born in Henderson, Kentucky, on October 21, 1944. She was an only child and moved to Florida with her parents, Willard Woodside and Ann Woodside, nee Poole, originally to the St. Petersburg area. Willard and Ann eventually began to manage a trailer park in the area of State Road 52 and US. 19 in the 70’s. After selling the park, they moved to Parkwood Acres in Hudson.

Robbin lived in this area and graduated from Gulf High School in 1963. She began working in a print shop where she met James B. Stephens. They began dating and were married in 1970. Robbin began working for the Pasco County School Board and retired from there in the 90’s. She worked at Hudson High School as a bookkeeper, Hudson Middle School after it opened and eventually transferred to the Purchasing Department as secretary to the Purchasing Agent for the Pasco County School Board in Land O’ Lakes, from which she retired. She jointly owned and worked in a pet grooming business on 52 (BJ’s Poochie Parlor). Robbin went on to become a phlebotomist which she dearly loved doing. She liked to refer to herself as a vampire.

Once retired from the “vampire” endeavor, she became bored. Her last two granddaughters did not require as much babysitting services as they once did. Robbin began to volunteer at the front desk of Bayonet Point Hospital. She enjoyed this tremendously and amassed over 2500 volunteer hours. Robbin was frequently counted on to take extra shifts and even volunteered when her health declined and she could be seen at the front desk wearing her oxygen hose.

Robbin’s great joys in life were her grandchildren (all 8 of them!). She also had a passion for dachshunds and had several over the years, including her beloved Possum.

Robbin is preceded in death by her husband James Stephens. She leaves behind 4 children, James Van Stephens (Alabama), Cynthia Larramore (Alabama), Victoria Jones (Hudson) and Brian Stephens (Hudson).
