Robert Carl Burgin Sr. (Bob), of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 1st, 2023.
He was born July 30th, 1936, in Holland, Ohio, to Edwin and Regina Burgin. Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Joyce (Nottage) Burgin for 67 years. Bob went to Holland High School (Holland Zippers). The Burgin brothers were known as a very athletic family and his goal was to set records. He loved having his family together and cherished the time he got to spend with family and friends.
He had been a past president and member in good standings at Club 16 for 64 years. He was the oldest living member which brought him plenty of memories with his friends and family. Bob’s dad taught him and his brother the sheet metal trade at Burgin Brothers Heating. Bob and his brother Ed took over Burgin Brothers until 1972, He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 33 and retired in 1996. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed Dartball, horseshoes, and was a big Ohio State football fan. After he moved to Florida he became a big Tampa Ray’s fan and opened Ha Ha Construction.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sister Jean Burgin (Cohen); brother Edwin Burgin; twin brother Mick Burgin; and son-law Mark Rompf. Bob is survived by his wife Joyce (Nottage) Burgin; his three children Sherry Rompf, Robert (Peggy) Burgin Jr, and Marina (Roland) Hugill; as well as seven grandchildren and nine great -grandchildren.
He was a quiet man with a soft voice and never short of a friend. He was known to be a great husband, father, brother and most of all everyone’s friend.
