Robert E. Thom

Robert E. Thom

October 14, 1943~March 20, 2022

Robert E. Thom, 78, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on March 20th, 2022 under hospice care.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry.  He is survived by his loving daughters, Heather Thom and Shannon Lucido; three grandchildren Erica, Michael, and Brianna; and two great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by three sisters Karolynn, Marilynn, and Patti.

Robert (Bob) was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  He was the oldest of seven children.  He met Sherry through his cousin, Donna, when he was working as a manager of Woolworth on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. He and his wife, Sherry, honeymooned in Florida and always dreamed of living here.  They recognized their dream over thirty-five years ago.

Bob loved to do woodworking, bowl, and go fishing.  He had a “green” thumb when it came to plants and flowers. He loved animals, especially his seven Scottish Terriers (over the years). He held a special place in his heart for the one he left behind: “Allison”, who is almost 14 years old.

He was a wonderful husband and father.  He was a kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and caring man.  He was hardworking and honest.  He will be deeply missed.  Our family is grateful to know that Bob is at peace.

The celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a memorial service on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 am at Dobies Funeral Home, 8825 Old County Rd 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653.

The family invites anyone wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to Hernando Pasco Hospice (727-845-4004) in memory of Robert E. Thom.  Thank you.

Hi Heather I was so sorry to hear about your Dad
but am sure he is in a better place now and with

with our name (PIERCE) on my mantel and I see it
every morning when I come down stairs and think
of you and him . Congratulations on your engagement
